“Keeping HOPE Away from Home” - a photo exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the UN Refugee Agency's work in Ukraine

“Keeping HOPE Away from Home” is the title of a photo exhibition that opened on October 31 in Dnipro and is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the UN Refugee Agency's work in Ukraine.

The photos depict the milestones of UNHCR's work over the past 30 years: from establishing ties with the Ukrainian government, supporting the repatriation of Crimean Tatars to helping internally displaced persons and all those affected by the war since 2014.

The 30 photos have been traveling across the country since June 20. The exhibition in Dnipro was organized by the UNHCR's long-term partner, the NGO “The Tenth of April”.

The venue is also symbolic.  In 2022, it was the National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic” that sheltered the IDPs from Mariupol - the state higher education institution relocated to Dnipro, Priazovsky State Technical University.

Among the guests at the opening were representatives of UNHCR Ukraine, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Ukraine, military administrations of Dnipro and Luhansk regions, partner organizations, university professors and students. All the guests and participants of the photo exhibition emphasized the importance of humanitarian work, support from the international community and the importance of preserving memory and history.

The exhibition will be open for another week from 9:00 to 16:00 at NTU Dnipro Polytechnic on the basis of the UNICA space.
