All social assistance is provided free of charge in the form of:
- informing
- counselling;
- social support of beneficiaries.
Social workers help to solve the beneficiaries' challenges and develop their independent problem-solving skills for successful adaptation in their new society.
In each region of the activity of the direction, social workers meet people who were forced to leave their homes at evacuation points and at the Department of Social Services, and provide food and hygiene kits to each person. In addition, each person is advised on accommodation (if necessary), evacuation abroad, international payments and transportation to the place of accommodation.
In addition, in some regions, there are Clothing banks operating that have both new and second-hand items that anyone who applies can take for themselves and their families.
The Clothing bank has clothes for adults and children, toys, and may also have basic necessities.
Also, at the request of internally displaced persons, non-food humanitarian aid is provided to meet their household and primary basic needs with the support of the UN Refugee Agency.
Once IDPs are settled in their new location, social workers continue to assist in addressing their needs and developing skills for independent problem-shooting to ensure successful adaptation to their new community. Physical accompaniment to government authorities and local self-government bodies are provided when necessary.
Almost every region has collective sites for internally displaced people. Our social workers offer people to settle there. If necessary, they provide psychological assistance and employment information.
