Since February 2016, the provision of free legal aid to internally displaced persons, emergency individual protection and support for public initiatives at the level of IDP communities has been launched.
All assistance is provided free of charge.
Legal aid:
- Providing initial consultations in all areas of law, including restoration of documents, establishing legal facts, legal expertise, etc;
- Identification of needs, determination of ways to address them, including referrals to competent authorities, NGOs, charitable foundations, etc;
- Provision of secondary legal aid, including drafting documents, applications, appeals, etc. on the protection of IDPs' rights directly related to their status;
- Preparation and drafting of claims and other applications to the judicial authorities, and, if necessary, legal support in court procedures;
- Providing other types of legal aid to protect the violated rights and interests of IDPs directly related to their status.
Emergency individual protection of the most vulnerable IDPs is identified during monitoring visits, meetings with government officials, media reports, etc.
