A modernised space for children has been opened

A modernised space for children has been opened in the Shpolyanska hromada of the Cherkasy Oblast.
The community has become a refuge for 4000 displaced people, almost 1000 of them are children.

In order to integrate IDPs into the host community, the NGO "The Tenth of April", in cooperation with the Department of Social Protection and Health of the Shpolyan City Council, equipped a space for children at the Shpolyan Centre for Children and Youth Creativity of Students.

The room is equipped with interactive toys, comfortable furniture and teaching materials. Here, children will be able not only to play and have fun, but also to study, develop their creative abilities and communicate with their friends.

At the opening of the children's space, Volodymyr Kudrya, head of regional division (Kropyvnytskyi, Cherkasy) of the NGO "The Tenth of April", welcomed the audience and noted the importance of integration and support for children whose childhood is spent in difficult realities. Oleh Koshovyi, acting mayor of the Shpolyan city council of the amalgamated territorial community, was grateful for the equipment of the new space and expressed hope for continued cooperation. A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the Shpola City Council and the NGO "The Tenth of April".

A series of workshops were held for the participants of the event, where children were able to develop creative and imaginative thinking, communicate, play and enjoy their time together.

The project is implemented with the support of UNHCR Ukraine - the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
